May 29th — plants are attached to strings around the time the first cucumbers appear.
May 29th — Farmer John check on the growth and notices the cucumbers are almost ready to pick.
June 26, Farmer John needs a ladder to pick cucumbers.
Cucumbers can be enjoyed right from the garden, on vegetable trays, in salads or soups. They are low in calories and supply fiber to the diet.
It’s the first day of summer and the Lock Farm has:
cucumbers, broccoli, kohlrabi, beets, kale and garlic for sale at the farm at 822 Ritner Highway, Shippensburg.

In a short amount of time the cucumber plants have grown to be over ten feet tall. Cucumbers, peppers and much more will be available through the Lock Farm during the summer months.
They Start Out Small

In less than a week these ‘little ones’ will be all grown up and ready to go into the Lock Farm Fields to Meals. Others will be sold through Lock Farm’s Thursday Market or at our farm stand in Shippensburg.

Our garlic was planted in October. Weeks ago we started crops that will be planted in our high tunnel.
